As a Policy Analyst , you will manage and play a pivotal role in shaping the policies and procedures that govern Fairstone’s Canada's lending services. As manager for the policies and procedures, your responsibilities will include delegating, analyzing, and creating the organization's policies and procedures, as well as coordination of various corporate processes concerning policies and procedures and making them available to employees through the intranet site. You will work in collaboration with various departments such as Operations, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and various external vendors and report directly to the Business Services Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions P&P

▪Exercises full leadership and supervisory responsibility over the department.
▪Evaluates subordinates' performance and delivers performance reviews, hires, makes recommendations for staffing, pay increases, promotions, terminations, etc. and provides coaching/development opportunities.
▪Independently monitors, assesses, analyzes and evaluates business policies with direct business impact and addresses all policy issues, from minor to complex, and the majority of them will have substantial /significant potential impact in terms of project size, geography, by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating to others in area.
▪Interfaces with departmental experts to determine the best and most accurate description of process requirements and makes judgments and recommendations based on analysis and in-depth policy knowledge with a solid understanding of the industry standards and practices, as well as influences/advises senior management in addressing broader policy issues with significant business impact.
▪Researches and interprets factual information.
▪Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures or practices. ▪Researches and interprets departmental reports.
▪Oversees file maintenance process; identifies process gaps and recommends process improvements.
▪Monitors the department mailbox and delegates appropriately to team members based on capacity, workload, and knowledge base and assigns all projects to analysts via the internal database.
▪Writes, adhere to standards, convert, and assure quality html documentation for on-line presentation of policies and procedures.
▪Applies superior analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies when recommending policy changes, with a wide discretion to develop complex business policies for multiple departments.
▪Performs quality control.
▪Exchanges potentially complex/sensitive information with Branches and Home Office departments relating to Legal requirements, systems, forms, procedures, and credit policy. 
▪Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
▪Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required.
▪Coordinates and assigns projects and implementation dates with management, and various support departments including Legal Systems, Forms ▪Administration, Accounting, outside vendors, etc.
▪Ad-hoc duties as determined by Supervisor.

Job Qualifications

▪Bachelor's degree in Business or in a relevant field.

▪5+ years supervisory experience in Operations/Field environment

▪Ability to work independently and as a team member/senior management, and interact with employees of all levels

▪Able to manage time effectively and productively

▪Organizational skills

▪Bilingual (English and French), an asset

▪Authorized to work in Canada

Work Location:

If located in the greater Montreal area the location would be at the home office

If outside of the great Montreal area, the position would be located in an approved Fairstone location.
